FCAW, GMAW and Filler Wire

What is the difference in the processes FCAW & GMAW apart from the filler wire?

I mean why does the need of using FCAW arises if one has GMAW at his disoposal?

I have read many reasons for the above discussion but have not been satisfied.

Welding with gas GMAW can be very difficult in windy conditions. With FCAW the insulating gases are coming right from the pool.

Welding performance is enhanced. The deposition rate of a flux cored consumable is pretty higher, so, specially for stablishing a production process it does make difference.
