Homework Alert! Homework Alert!

The CR4 FAQ listing clearly states:

  • Do your own homework. CR4 is not a homework cheat site. While some here might relish the opportunity to sharpen up old rusty skills by working the homework problem, consider this and consider it well. If you cheat on your homework by using someone else's answers, you are only cheating yourself, because the purpose of any homework or other college assignments is to help you learn - by practice, repetition, and self-discovery. (thanks STL Engineer)

The allowed voltage variations are governed by

a) Purchase specifications

b) If it is silent then various standards governing (eg for you may be IS, or IEC or NEMA) refer to the corresponding standard/ specification.

I don't know, " the max. and min.permissiable voltage of any 3-phase 6.6 kv induction motor".

I've never pondered, " the max. and min.permissiable voltage of any 3-phase 6.6 kv induction motor".

I'd like to know why you are so keenly interested in, " the max. and min.permissiable voltage of any 3-phase 6.6 kv induction motor" if you have no use for the knowledge.

I'm going with redfred on this one!

It can be anything .Motor can be designed but u should be able to afford it.Normal practice is +- 6% .In India +- 10%. Some cases we have given +10-15 etc.Depends on suplpy conditions

A better way to elicit help in this (or any other) forum is to be specific to a project you are working on. For example,:

"I have a 6.6kV motor that is only getting 6.3kV from the utility supply and the nameplate FLC is 63A, but it is drawing 65A. Is this going to harm my motor?"

When you ask the question in the way you did giving you the benefit f the doubt that you are not just wanting someone to do your homework fr you), then it makes us think you are a "margins" engineer, meaning someone who is planning on playing with the edges of acceptability rather that design in some reasnable allowances. That is a dangerous game and most good engineers will not want to participate.

Anyway, you gt an answer and as you can see, it avails you nothing. You still must do research.
