Transformer Vector Group and Generator Voltage

09/15/2009 9:22 PM

My Question is: what is the relation of the vector group of transformer with the generator voltage? Why is it necessary to specify the vector group in ordering a transformer?

The vector group identification is need for the connection of Trasformer in primary side and secondary side. Two option is available one is STAR and another one is DELTA. The windings has to be designed accordingly. That is the reason to identify the vector group. The 1 and 11 is notation for 30degree displacement in +ve and -ve side.
