happen in which sense? Do u want to know that if the voltages will improve or not? or do u want to know the power factor will improve or not?

if there is no load, there is only reactive current. may be it is capacitive, but still it is reactive. The whole system works on that mode.

then capacitor banks act as a load.

Your voltage will be charging your capacitor bank and you need to pay extra bill.

hi!

You want to run 400 kvar capacitor bank ON on what kva transformer ?

if kva rating of transformer is < 750 - 800 kvar, there are chances, transformer winding shall burn.!

Of coure, you are happily paying for the CU losses at 400 kva load.

Further, over capacitance may bring resonance with transformer inductance, bringing over voltages across mains .

that is why, automatic correction panels being used for such a large applications.

Your source will see a huge about 90 degee-off phase current load equal with the one you would be spared when used with the corresponding device it was matched with, but actually that will not be all losses (it's 90 degree off remember?) only a small part of it depending on the capacitor quality. Your wires up to capacitors will still be loaded though and will have losses too
