The obvious application is foot sole pressure measurement. It can be used to design orthotic shoes or to sell over-priced pads (the more likely case, I'm afraid).

Not only orthopedics, but to manufacture prosthesis.m And I am sure it would not stop there.

Can be used for reenactments on ballistics and such??

There's got to be some sort of biometric security application that improves upon fingerprint readers.

As demonstrated in the video it can do testing for counterfeit currency.

A common problem with fingerprint sensors is distortion caused by pressing the round finger against a flat glass plate. I think this may solve that problem.
