Drive Module for AC Servo Motor

Dear Friends,

POWER MODULE which convert the supply AC to DC and then DRIVE MODULE convert the supply DC to AC for run the AC SERVO MOTOR. Please I want to know why we can not use directly VFD drive for AC SERVO MOTOR?

If not interested for closed loop (encoder feedback) control and think your VFD is enough sofisticated to cope well yes why not? I do it all the time in my prototyping lathe
