Current and voltage in resistor?

09/23/2009 6:50 AM

i want to know one nonpractical problem's solution. if we connect three 20V ideal DC voltage source and one 20ohm resistance in prallel to these votage sources then what will be the current and voltage in resistor? all four elements are in parallel

You don't say how the voltage sources are connected...

1 ideal 20v voltage source is exactly the same as 3 ideal 20v voltage sources connected in parallel (or any other number).

3 ideal 20v sources in series is the same as one ideal 60v source.

3 Ideal sources in parallel are as good as one ideal source, Its like adding infinity 3 times.

Grasshopper, first you must sit in lotus position. Then repeat mantra, "Ohm, Ohm, Ohm". When you have emptied your mind of everything else, then you will see that ideal Voltages sources in parallel only provide longer operating time. 1 A, -20 V.

Heard NASA is hiring. Why not give it a try?
