CR4,
I bought an amaizablaze cornstove model 4100 Nov 07 and this will only be the second season of use. However, when I started it this season and it heated up, the paint inside the heat chamber is peeling away (coming off in clumps). I cleaned the stainless steel exhaust pipe with vacuum and long piece of wire to loosen any soot in pipe. I also, disconnected exhaust and cleaned all the internal fans and pipes that I could access. Last year after each use, I vacuumed inside the heat chamber and cleaned the inside walls with a soft vacuum brush (brushed the accessible heat tubes before vacuuming). I cleaned the clinker box after each daily use and vacuumed that as well. Is this paint peeling normal? Should I be concerned? I cannot afford a new stove and after only one full season of use I cannot believe that this unit is useless or defective.
I have the unit mounted in the basement with the exaust pipe running about 6-7 ft out from the unit through an outside wall. When I purchased the unit the sales person said that the ideal place for installation was against an outside wall for direct venting but that there should be no trouble with were I was placing the unit because the unit will also pull air from inside the room that I was intending to heat and that these units have been installed in basements with no problem.
