Sir, Can u tell me regarding the cost & the durability out of FRP pipes and MS pipes with FRP coating?

Can GRP pipes be used for low temprature sea water handeling?

Man u cant use GRP pipes for sea water, as the hard water particles errodes the particles of GRP.. so there are chances tat it get mixes with water....

for low temp. applications u can use MS with FRP coating u can use...

Any industry handling sea water can afford FRP...

If you don't want to use a reinforced plastic try copper-nickel or other brass or bronze alloy. Copper tubing can be used in low pressure, low temperature applications.

For seawater pressure pipes, use Kunifer 10 (Copper, nickel, iron)

Sir,Can you please tell me that if my temprature handeling is 50degree & pressure handeling is 5.5 kg the GRP pipes can be used or not under this situation?

Sir, Can u tell me is Kunifer 10 is benificial over GRP pipes if we will consider it on the basis of cost and durability?

Kunifer 10 is available in 10, 16 and 20 bar ratings, has excellent long-term resistance to sea-water corrosion. Sample supplier is: http://www.wilsons.plc.uk/coppernickel.htm

Composite pipes provide excellent performance for seawater applications and will show significant savings on installed and lifetime costs.

Likewise, reinforced epoxy composite valves offer lower acquistion, installed and life time costs. They can even be used where fire tested valves to API 607 and L3 standards are required.

Both can be used up to 100 degrees if you can find seawater at such temperatures!

We would be delighted to provide anybody with details.

More information in the question would be nice.

Temp

Flow Rate

Pipe length

Pressure

Conditions outside the pipe

Use of the sea water

what causes the water to move (gravity or pump)

GRE pipe and valves are now widely used on off-shore platforms, FPSO's, both merchant and naval ships, powergenerator cooling, fire water systems and many other applications.

Suggest you look at these web sites = www.advalve.com and www.futurepipe.com for more information or e-mail AVT@advalve.com
