1 ton general fabrication of what, exactly?

What practical experience is available locally in creating 0.5 ton and 0.75 ton thingies?

Consumption of materials or consumption of time?

Debashi,

Unfortunately, "1 ton" means nothing

  • How many joints make up your fabrication?
  • What kind of joints are being made?
  • What are the joint dimensions?
  • How proficient are your fabricators?

I suggest that you

  • go out onto the shop floor,
  • ask one of the welders to weld a foot-long length of each type of joint,
  • measure how much rod was used,
  • apply these figures to your joint data and,

voila: You have your answer! (the same applies to oxy and acetylene consumption.)
