OK, this is very important. WHAT chemical? WHICH carbon steel? WHICH SS?

This is also VERY important!

What Maximum Operating Pressure?

What Maximum Operating Temperature?

Can anybody tell me what I'm thinking now. Its very important that I know this so I can do my project. It may have something to do with chameleons or was that Geico? Don't cavemen eat lizards? Wow, Hunter S. Thompson was right, look out for the bats.

"i want to use y-type strainer on chemical line"

Use Y-Strainer fabricated from the same material used in your chemical line. Otherwise you are kindly requested to submit all data related to your fluid and your piping system to enable the participants suggesting the proper material.

Use Google to search for "Corrosion resistance chart".

It is highly inadvisable to publish an e-mail address in an international forum, for risk that spam-bots will harvest it, bombard it with scams, and render it useless.

Hi H.K

A strainer as you describe, would be part of the general pipe type fittings already available to you, and using the same spec means all connections will be as one with the type of pipe you are using.

I can see that if a different steel or any other metal is used it could cause cathodic problems?

Take care

Hi H.Kamran,

Please click on this link and you will see why it is not a good idea to list your personal email as you have done. You are a member so anyone can reply to open forum to you and then, if you wish you can click on anyone name and it will take you to their Profile. From there you can click on send an email and it will be sent to their Private Message folder, and will be completely private.
