File-Menu in IE-8 or 9

Regards all.

I am working on a Laptop Sony MP061 of my Grandson in IE :

Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1

File Menu is not visible.

I have tried all the means I have on tips but unable to get it.

I remember while I was working on my own Toshiba & upgraded to IE-8 same problem arised.

Later on a Fix was posted by a 3rd party to bring the File Menu.

Can't ascertain the version as File Menu is hidden

Can anybody help please? Thanks

Thanks I have found the solution

In tool bar having "Page" , "Safety" "Tools" buttons Scrolldown the Button "Page" and the file menu items are there.

Yea Microsoft did that with a lot of their programs and it definitely can be a little tricky to find sometimes but you get used to it after a while.

There is always the old keyboard shortcuts, ALT- F .. should still work and then its a matter of resetting the toolbars.

In IE8, you can turn on the Menu Bar by doing the following... Tools/Toolbars/Menu Bar

Apologies for the blurry screen scrape... guess that's why I'm not a Graphics Designer <shrug>

Thanks & a GA for good reply.

I am attaching the PIX . How better it is will see when posted.

I got it with IrfanView by its "Auto-Capture" the Window in front and then copying the Client Area from the captured clip.

Seems to be a little better.
