Belt Tension calculation?

How to calculate belt tension? and Could you explain the belt tension calculation using 4 pullys or example in vehicle engine pully and belt drive?.

You can't from the vague information you provided.

Assuming you mean V-Belts, (or any other kind) there is unlimited info on the web from manufacturers of belts, and other reliable sources.

The Belt tension calculation is a product of the amount of wrap and the amount of power consumed by the accessory being driven.

You want enough wrap and tension to drive the accessory with out slip, but you don't want to exceed the load that the accessory bearings can handle.

There is also harmonics involved the the power pulsations from the drive motor and the inertia's in the rotating mases in the accessory.

That being said you cam calculate the tension required with a proper belt routing, power input and frequency pulsations, load and inertias of the accessory's, maximum RPM of the accessory's, etc.

There are manual calculations also programs to calculate.

Proper calculations would save allot of headaches.
