Furance Oils

Hi sir, I want to get some advise on how its going to effect on my application in furnace if I wish to change from Light diesel oil to heavy creosote oil or better change it to furnace oil. Sir I would be glad to get much clear information on these products as i have very less knowledge on these products.

you will need a new,or different kind of oil burner if you go from light oil to heavy oil,and it will have to be pre-heated.

Dear Guest, thanks a lot for your reply, but i didnt get clear idea in what you say as do i have to pre heat heavy creosote oil before it is supplied in to the burner? i after viewing your reply i called my supplier and asked him but he promised that there is no need of pre heating this heavy creosote oil and i clearly agree in your idea of changing my burner which i have prepared. so i wish you could explain me much clear.

You have to change burner nozels according furnace oil and use the heater to heat the furnace oil other wise oil flow may not be proper,[it is depend upon ambient temperature] oil temp should be 100ċ other wise it will not fire.

If you are on a steel rolling industry, heavy fuel oil needs a preheater at least 70degC to get your burner fired. Check the burner design if it is possible for heavy oil. You need to clean your burner nozzle regulary and replacement of oil seal. Heavy fuel oil will result more unburned fuel, this unburned fuel will result to black smoke and will affect your burner block and refractory life. If you will not get a true Air/fuel ratio, there will be affect in your steel billet/ingot temperatures which in turn affected your rolling operation.
