LT Panel designing

10/24/2009 3:14 AM

Hi All,

Can anybody give me any links or websites, through which I can learn about the designing of LT panels(say PCC, MCC, etc.,)

Also provide the same details for calculating the busbar(copper & aluminium) sizes & qty to use.

i couldnt find any wikipedia for this. Kindly provide the links to learn more of the LT panel designing(control schemes, interlocking logics, design parameters to be considered etc.,)

I don't think you can find any links or websites where you can learn about designing the panels because as it so called "design" ,it gotta be copy righted & that none of electrical system be the same design anyway, it's a creativity, it's a knowledge based skill that you must pass about through learning & seeing by doing.........

so my suggestion is, firstly try to learn about how to read the single line diagram & wiring diagram, after that search all panel's main components & learn what's that for & how they works then seek panel's accessories etc...etc.

with those product knowledge & skill of electricity plus creativity will just help you to understand of how to design the panel you want. and yes you can googling the busbar calculator software if you need it. thanks

Tootje is quite right. Like any other product design, PCC/MCC design is a complex thing, and requires knowledge of many devices like circuit breakers, contactors, relays, in addition to mechanical knowledge of the structure design and busbar supports to withstand the dynamic peak of the short-circuit current. One needs to learn all these things the hard way.

However, googling can help in finding a lot of information. Here is a useful link for many calculations ...

Good luck.

I doubt the proposed programme in November will be conducted as scheduled. Please contact us on our phone numbers - which, I hope you should have, as you have planned already.
