ECO Project Help

10/26/2009 6:04 AM

Hiya all,

Wondering if anyone out there is able to help me and my group of kids out.

Back in June 2009, we entered into and competer in the Shell Eco Marathon Youth Challenge with a wooden car (Cerbyd Coed {Welsh of Wooden Car}), built from as much recycled and sustainable materials as we possibly could manage and through the efforts of 10 year 9 & 10 pupils (14-15 year old), designed, built and ran the team to the ends of dragging as many miles as we could out of 1 imperial gallon of Shell fuel.

Almost 400mpg later, we hailed it as a success and with a re-organised team of new pupils, are aiming to better this figure in the 2010 event.

What we are looking for are financial backers to sponsor us in order to maintain our team and help us with th ecosts of the modifications and logistical aspects of the project, as the kids are ding it as extra-curricular activities and us staff are doing it for the love of engineering and for what we do.

Anyone who is able to help us, PLEASE contact me for details and I'll try and answer any questions you might have.

The idea we have is to concentrate on the ECO side of things, not only the ECOnomy, but the ECOlogy of the car, hence the wooden construction.

We have a couple of backers already and the kids are hot on the case for local smaller support, but any large company who can help, will be most welcome.

Cheers in advance
