The Main disadvantages of using Non armoured cables

The main one is the inherent risk that inadvertent damage to the cable leads to either:

• electrocution of the individual causing the fracture, and/or
• shutdown of part of, or all of, the facility.

Thank you, sir are there any other technical reason by using non armoured cable in a thermal based power plant.

Apart from reasons listed by PWSlack the other reasons could be:

1. Ease of bending a non armoured cable.

2. The said cables are not long lengths and are within a building and are mostly laid on trays thereby eleiminating the chance of damage to the cable while carrying out digging works.

We have problem with rats, and all our machine cables we have changed to armored. here too everything is in trench, but you can not do much with the creatures bent on committing suicide.
