Mr abdel,

Thkx 4 the photograph that u have made through the hyperlink based on our previous discussion. I want a cross sectional drawing specifiying the elements of Insulation and fixing arrangement of the complete insulation system. My question is whether the removable or conventional insulation material touches the flange bolts or not ? coz we feel that there is a problem of bolt elongation and there is a possiblity of leaks which leads to ignition.

Regards

Earnest.

It is a common good practice and it is also a code recommendation to proceed a hydrostatic/pneumatic/leak test for any piping system after complete fabrication and erection and before applying heat conservative insulation.

For valves and flanges, you can use any type of heat insulation, whatever a conventional or removable type.
