11/10/2009 6:24 AM

Can any one explain what is on-load change over switch? where we will be using such kind of switches? and what is the difference between these over normal rotary switches? And range of availability of these on-load change over switches?

guest; sounds like a genset smooth load transition switch where the genset comes on line with the existing power suppler/source. perry

An ON-LOAD CHANGE OVER SWITCH - as the name suggests can make or break the rated load current without any problem. It is something related to the making and/or the breaking capacity of the switch.

Whereas a Rotary switch is a terminology related to the operating mechanism. I would say that even a on-load changeover switch is a rotary switch.
