<...can i know what is the cause of this...>

Instead of connecting all the circuit returns to the neutral conductor downstream of the ELCB, a number of them have been connected to the earth conductor instead. Such a connection is potentially very dangerous.

A rigorous review of the installation is required so that there is no connection between earth and neutral downstream of the ELCB. Once it has all been corrected, and assuming no appliance faults remain, the ELCB can be brought back into service, considerably enhancing the saftety of the installation.

If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

Hi Guest,

Electrical wiring / repair work have to carried by a certified electrician who understand Electrical safety . ELCB is installed in your house wiring to protect you from possible leakage current which can cause death of a user by electrocution or an electrical fire. Your system has fault so the ELCB is tripping. Instead of correcting the fault you removed the protective device for the past 5 years. Better call a competent electrician and check up your house wiring and the electrical gadgets you are using (at the earliest before any unfortunate thing happens). Please obey electrical safety rules.

Hi Giri,

It gives immense pleasure to see that at least some people are reading the replies and getting benefited from this site. There are good number of highly knowledgeable people from around the world participating and I like to read them more than replying. The very purpose of my spending time in this forum is to be in touch with the latest development in the subject.I learn more from replies from others most of the times.

In our times we never had the facility of computer ,internet or software solutions . When we were in difficulty the only help was coming from our library and books and advice from the experienced seniors and that was also not available in many of the new projects which were located in remote places far away from cities and towns.

Regards
