How do we detect Islanding of generator from mains without mains breaker status?

Is df/dt with monitored 27element of the bus enough?

vector shift relay also required.

A combination of 27, 80 (df/dt) & Vector Surge Relay - is required.

I dont have a vector surge relay, I have 27 element ( under voltage for bus) and 81R (df/dt for bus) with this how much protection I can give? I also have other current protection elements.

I do not think that the authorities would permit you to synchronise your generator with grid, if you don't have avector surge relay. Here, in India, it is mandatory.
