Pressure Tapping and Rod Removal

11/24/2009 6:58 AM

Dear All,

I ask this question after i did so many experiment.

In 20 mm pressure taping i inserted a 18 mm rod to give clearence for the refractory lining inside the blast furnace. After completion of refractory i tried to remove it, as refractory material is totally dried i am unable to get the rod out.

As this pressure taping is very important I used all mechanism and failed to do at last.

Please give better solution. Thanks

Chill it by several tens of degrees centigrade. The thing will go loose in its hole and can then be driven out with a blunt instrument.
