Is A-572 an ASME approved material?

ASTM A 572/A 572M Standard Specification for High-Strength Low-Alloy Columbium-Vanadium Structural Steel.

If your material came with an Inspection Certification stating that it meets the specification, than, yes I would say it is an "approved" material.
