Need assistance here.
a hydraulic quench press which can apply 1000-40000Lbs load on a center ram (Called an expander) the center ram has a tapered mandrel attached that has 30 Deg taper.
There is an segmented shoes that locate the ID of an ring gear. the Internal dia is tapered to match the tapered mandrel above.
the ring gear has to be expanded .010 total
The ring gear will be heated to 1500 Deg F
the material of the ring gear is 9310 steel with a yield stress of 155000. PSI
the estimated flow stress is 10% of the Ys
what is formula used to calculate the load in pounds (LBS)
