Converting Non-Stacked Satellite System to Stacked System

11/29/2009 11:12 PM

I am desperately seeking a solution for converting a satellite system with a non stacked LNB with vertical/horizontal polarity, to a stacked system. The LNB is a Quad and works on a 60cm elliptical dish from a company called Star Choice/Shaw Direct in Canada. Is there anyone on this planet that has any insight into the whether or not..and how..this can be done? If so, where would you get the equipment to do it? is there any technical schematics that someone can download displaying the layout of equipment?? I have already tried products from Sonora..polarity locker and stackers..but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick? HELP!!!

I know about stacked LNBs for these systems. I know everything there is to know about them and how they work. What i am trying to do is find a technology that convert non stacked to stacked from a quad LNB. The old stacked technology is no longer being produced and I would like to find a way around it or find/hire someone to create it. Thanks though.

Help me a little, what do you mean by "stacked"? I am sure you don't mean that it has big Boobs!

I had a quick look at the website someone posted and it did not help my understanding of the word at all....

I have installed probably 20 odd sat systems for myself and friends over the last almost 20 years (I have no idea when I installed the first one anymore....), so I might be able to help you firther.....

My present system uses a single dish to receive Eutelsat at 13°E, Astra 1 at 19.2°E and Astra 2 at 28.2°E.....each sat is received on its own LNB which has four outputs (which would allow, if directly connected to a digital receiver, that receiver to "see" all the programs from that particular sat!). Each output from each LNB is fed to a special unit (4 of them, one sat output to each unit), I forget the name of what its called, sorry) which allows each TV in the house to access all three LNB outputs/Sats.

I don't remember if you mentioned (or its on your Avatar) your location in this world, but as far as I am aware, digital SAT signals are very similar, its the receiver that allows a particular TV norm to view a particular program.....I can in fact see US TV on a standard PAL TV with no problems at all, the picture is great, in color and sound is also correct......(Pentagon Channel)......

Maybe you can recognise something in my rambling that might fit in with what you are looking for......let me know.....

The basic understanding of these systems is not what I am seeking. I am looking for someone with knowledge on polarity, frequencies, stacking signals from non stacked technology...not changing LNB's to gain stacked signal. Thanks though.
