I want to design an industrial shed with 65.5 ft wide and 184 ft long, with 40 ft height. Is there any reference book or software to design a shed. Please help me.

Try software STAAD Pro. or give your requirements to the expert he will design it for you and knows exactly the appicable building codes and governing standards. Useful reference book is Uniform Building Code(UBC).

Your question is quite a big one. If I were to take it as it is written, it seems to say that you know nothing about engineering. So normally you should engage a qualified professional engineer.

However, if you wish to just think about the initial design prior to embarking on the actual job itself (at which point a professional needs to be involved), then best thing is to simply google "Industrial Shed Design" in all its forms and with quote marks as required.

Planning the whole process is also a good starting point: what are my needs, what are my resources, what is typical local practice . . .

Mr. omw7

My dear

The guest who is asking about how to design industrial shed and he is the one who is very much problematic how to do certain design concept which a very, very simple job. If he is a graduate of civil or structural engineering that is chicken feed problem.

Just give him your desticntive, lucrative and brilliant ideas so that you that you can help that Guest make him satisfty... For me I'm just wasting our time for non-sense homework...Do I need to teach everyone about basis mechanics and strength of materials... before proceeding to steel design subject...

Better give the design problem to the real civil or structural engineer...Web site technical information is just only a hint in order for lazy student in colllege days and some bobos to learn more... in order for them understand simple terminologies of design concept.

You have to decide first in what material you want to build. Galvanised sheet materials or bricks or concrete ? Once you decide, then you come with the money you want to spend on this industrial shed. You can have a shead with a moillion dollar and a shed with less than 50,000. you choose. Then look for design

Hi dear friend,

Nice to meet.

Here may i know the industrial shed what you have marked the specification is to be built for yourself?

Here we are a specilized designer and manufacturer of industrial shed and prefab house in China since 1996.

We can design the industrial shed as per your local wind speed, snow load, earthquake information, and your detailed requirements of the industrial shed. The industrial shed is made of steel frame and wall&roofing material.

The H column and beam to be the framework of the industrial shed, the corrugated color steel sheet is as the wall and roofing material, with doors, windows etc.

All its components of the industrial shed is prefabricated, can be packed into sea container, easy and quickly to install.

If you have any question, please let me know.

Best regards,

Mingming
