PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH WELDING OF DSS OVERLAY CLADDING ON CS

12/09/2009 2:40 AM

What are problems i need to avoid during manaufacturing of CS + DSS cladding?

If i have to carry out PWHT of CS will this cause effect on DSS interms of strength and corrosion resistance?

the problem that you can have is a non correct balance of ferrite-austenite in the overlay, and also if you make a PWHT after welding there will be the possibility of precipitation of Intermetallic Phases that reduce the corrosion resistance of the overlay.
