Uploading Files to a Discussion

12/10/2009 8:35 AM

Some of you may know about the neat Excel Workbook on pipe and shapes I referenced and share by email a couple of years back.

I still get queries about it and would like to upload into a discussion.

How can I do this?

'Fraid you can't - not within CR4.

Your best bet would be to find a site where you can upload the file for anyone to download, and to post a link to it on CR4.

Not sure, but you may be able to do it on HubPages (which is free to join).

Any other suggestions, anyone?

Hum, I use FilePub and Dropbox, but I just wanted to make it seamless and quick.

Maybe Chris and the gang needs to find a way to enable us to do this.

Of course, it would only be public domain, non-proprietary stuff, and personal individual creations.

What do you think CR4???

Don't think you'll get anywhere - the question's been asked before (more than once) - but don't let me stop you asking.

Just maybe if enough people ask and we keep asking, it might happen.

Of course, we will need to self police, I can't expect the monitors to do it.

And, anyone uploading proprietary or subscription based docs like standards and rps should be reported and prosecuted.

So many ask on here, it gets a bit tiresome, after the items have been purchased.

Of course, their are groups who do this.

Maybe I can copy and paste the workbook also, but there are about 14 pages.

Simple solution. Host it on your web-site. Provide a link here.

Another solution is to invite people to send you a private message including their E-M address. Then you can send them the spread sheet.

No way remove it; it is a valid comment and post.

It is just that the requests come in spurts from word of mouth and others going thru past entries and posts.

Keep it their and thanks for at least commenting in a very professional manner.

Sorry, I don't have any additional suggestions beyound what has already been posted

But, I must have missed this one when you originally posted it. As a fellow "Tube&Pipe" guy, I would be interested in your spreadsheet.

I'll send you a PM with my contact information.
