what is the working principle of the syncronous generator?which supplies are given to the stator and rotor?

There is a rotating field and that induces an emf in the stationary coil

or there is a stationary field that creates an emf in a rotating coil.

In brief, there is a constant relative motion between the maxnetic flux and a bunch of coils. this automatically creates the emf.

rest: read text book and then write your report. Submission on Monday?

There is an exciter power supply that delivers around 480VDC.

My apologies if i sounded condescending .. it appears that you are not in the homework zone.

The generator will have to be run precisely at 3000/1500/750/375 .. rpm if the stator is wound for 2/4/6/8 .. poles in a 50Hz country... and 3600/1800/900/450 .. if in USA and others who use 60Hz.

Hope it helps.

This is a Generator ... so you input mechanical power and get electrical power..right ?

It is 'synchronous' .. so the power generated is at 50 Hz or 60 Hz depending on where you live.

A DC supply is usually given to the rotor to create a magnetic field. The rotor, as the name implies, is rotated by mechanical means (water, wind, a motor .. whatever) at a speed which generates a 50 / 60 Hz voltage in the Stator which carries stationary windings.

Sufficient for Monday ?
