What Publications Do You Read for the Semicon Industry?

12/14/2009 11:14 AM

Hey all!

A friend of mine in marketing is in a quandary. She is faced with a limited budget and wonders if print is still a viable option for her advertising mix for such a complex industry.

So what if any magazines or websites do you read / vist for the semicon / PV solar panel industry (outside of Globalspec and CR4 of course!)

Thanks a lot and no solicitations please, I am just getting some feedback for a friend.

I don't read ANY paper magazines anymore. I read a couple of the standards online.

I read the electronic version of "electronic design", but, mostly I just look at the "ideas for design" and "Bob Pease". I keep the pdfs so I can search for stuff I need.

I read (on more or less a regular basis)

EE Times for trends and events in the electronics business end of things

EDN for new product introductions, design hints, white papers etc.

Electronic Design (ditto)

EEPN for new product introductions

EE Evaluation for advances in electronic testing and test equipment

NASA Tech Briefs because it tends to be multi-disciplinary and sometimes downright interesting

Military Aerospace & Electronics because I work for a defense contractor and it's good to know what's happening in the business

I get several others as well but they are not as relevant and I quickly skim them for tid-bits of interest.

Cheers !!

I don't get any paper mags for work anymore. The only paper pubs I get are the "Chicago Tribune," "Science News," "Symmetry", and "Astronomy." My work stuff is all online subscriptions: EETimes, IDG Connect, InformationWeek, Semiconductor International, InsideTech, EDN Online, Electronic News Today, Electronic Design Update, and maybe a couple more.

Also: Advanced Packaging, Wafer News, SolidState Technology, i-MicroNews, 3D InCites, and Perspectives from the Leading Edge.

Yeah, I read a lot.
