Current Sensing

Sir,we are working on Induction Motor Protection.Current Rating of Motor is 8 A.We have decided to use sensor LA-25P.We are trying to take the data sensed directly

on PC through PC Card.Is the sensor OK???

No way to answer that question.

OK as in what? Is it an OK quality sensor? Is it an OK accuracy class for your application? Is it an OK size for that load? Is it OK in terms of interfacing with whatever your PC interface is? You did not provide anywhere near enough information.

It's a Hall Effect transducer that apparently gives a 1000:1 ratio current output, so at 8A it will put out 8ma. It can take a 55A peak load, so as long as the inrush current of your 8A induction motor is under 55A (it should be) then you can see the inrush. If you don't need to see the inrush, it doesn't matter. Again, no way to read your mind from here, I need to place my fingers on your skull to do that.
