Don't know about simplest, but this one's pretty simple (but you need to program a PIC microcontroller):

I use a dedicated three phase DC IC...cheap and minimal extra components with no need to program using a PIC.

Have a look at MC33035 used with MC33039 (or similar).

These are available on Ebay, there is one seller who has them. Run a search.

There is no simple diagram without using a dedicated IC.

I believe also that some three phase stepper motor controllers butchered from old printers have what you need also...with some minor tinkering to manufacturer's advised schematics.
