Gas Turbine Questions

what is cranking? what is the function of water spray in combustion chamber? what is dual shaft drive?how to control the speed of gas turbine?

Had you only googled .

Results 1 - 10 of about 72,800 for gas turbine cranking. (0.31 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 19,500 for gas turbine water spray combustion chamber. (0.28 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 18,500 for gas turbine dual shaft drive. (0.36 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 434,000 for gas turbine speed control. (0.23 seconds)

No Woody, that is for cleaning.

The water spray is done for the NOx control and efficiency improvement (killing two birds with one stone )

All these answers are too obvious (may be except this one)

- Visit the GE site

- Siemen's site

- Any of the reputed manufacturer site

In GE site I am aware there are quite a few papers on these subjects (not all of course)

Why all these basic questions? Any Turbine man knows what is cranking, how the speed is controlled, ...Dual Shaft of course is a bit confusing But then check the 2 series frames of GE eg Frame5002E, 6002E, etc.
