I have problems keeping a lobby warm. We have 2 sets of bypassing doors with a 8' foyer between them. We can't do anything else HVAC wise. Will air curtains on the exterior set of doors help?
Probably would help a little bit. Air curtains are most effective at keeping out dust, insects, that sort of thing, but are sometimes used for this application. They are available with a heating option as well.
When you say bypassing doors, could this also be said as 'Center-Parting' doors... two door leaves, meeting in the middle, slide left and right to create an opening 6 or 7 foot wide? If yes, this is a good candidate for air curtain door. Door height of 7 foot is best, taller doors need much larger airflow to operate very well. Don't forget to consider the size of the can installed over the door. Enough clearance room?
Entrance vestibules are always a bugger to try and heat/cool.
