Well, if 'you' are going to attend the program then i would suggest you go to the site:

http://www.aws.org/certification/CWI/

Looks like they have some information on their program. If you want more on CWI, then google it... I actually googled: "Certified Welding Inspector" and came up with:

As a CWI, one lesson you may learn (that can also be applied in many areas outside of work) could be an understanding that excellence is not typically found by looking for perfection, but instead it is often found by rigorously searching for flaws (and correcting/improving).
