Clean Steel for 304

Dear all,

I found a word "clean steel" in one paper. Could anyone give me some material about clean steel? Is there clean steel for 304? what's it specification? thanks!

BTW: these are used where steel must be highly clean (ie devoid of any non-metallic impurities) - used especially in bearings, gears etc.

There is an ASTM specification that gives the cleanliness number (forgot the spec number I think it is E45, and another too is there) - and when you buy, you specify by this number.
