AutoCAD Tutorials

12/23/2009 1:54 AM

gentlemen,

I am in need of AutoCAD material (tutorials or notes) preferably 2007. I need to start with the basics and progress from there. PDF will be advisable for easy download.

Can a someone out there be the solution to this?

all the best in the coming year!

bright.

Assuming that you have a licensed product, AutoDesk usually includes basic instructions and tutorials with the software. If you do not have access to the original materials, you can contact AutoDesk on-line and request the information. There may be a small fee, but not anywhere near the costs of the original product.

If your copy is NOT licensed, shame on you. A licensed copy of AutoCad LT (2 dimension, basic) is only about $600 to $750. Full AutoCad 3-D can get up to about $2500 or so and major products like Mechanical or Inventor can cross the $3500 to $5,000 range but you get FULL support.

In addition, you can probably get from a bookstore some basic texts on AutoCAD that will be helpful. Also try searching on such terms as AutoCAD, online, and tutorial.

That said, one of the best ways to learn this is to find a knowledgeable person and have him/her walk you through the features of this (or any other) program. There are many nice tricks that are hard to get from just reading, but will come naturally from a good mentor.

AutoCAD LT (whatever current version) may not have all the fancy 3-D features, but I'm pretty sure 3-D work can be done in it. (My needs do not rely much on this, so I haven't explored it very far.)

There's lots of tips on AutoCAD here.

I also have a set of basic notes I wrote for my own use, if you send me a message with your e-mail address I can send you a copy.
