It would help to see a picture of the part this refers to.

It sounds like there is a thread like flange on the part which has to be removed in a localised area. After cleaning up this has to be checked by fitting another part (5.5 HF Plug) & a gauge pin.

This specification looks like some sort of joke that is intended to cater to a favored contractor who will pretend to understand it, whereas no one else will try to touch it with a ten-foot pole.

Who would ever clean anything to a depth between .027 and 0.47?? I think someone is pullng your leg. If there is a rational explanation for this gobbledy-gook, I'd like to hear it. You ought to pull their plug.

There are foot notes on the cleanup dems. (3) and a note on the thread pitch. (2) You need the Drawing 1000-1000f.coo, the specifications for the 5.5 plug gauge and .214 gage pin. you also need the ref procedure 743001. What is inspection level O? You need to find this out from the customer. Without all this; who knows? What does the part look like and where is it used?

Line 6. indicates the machining isn't too critical as the edges are broken by putting them in a tumbler. Line 4. Dimension to theoretical corners. Project a line from two ajoining faces and where they cross is the point to measure from. It works great on cad but is a laughable ref in the shop.
