calling all engineer's

12/27/2009 11:33 AM

This is a Call to arms we need the best minds more now then any other time in our history, The United States has cured more ills, invented more inventions, has more advanced technology, has advanced more human rights, then any other country. has also destroyed more things then any other country. We the people are on a path chosen by our government to hand over to the energy companies our land to put windmills and solar panels all across the most beautiful land in the world. If we can energize a community with solar panels why can;t we put them on individual houses if engineers can figure out away to shield a rocket to keep it from burning up entering our atmosphere they should be able to solve this one. Batteries seem to play a big role in this equation that and the power companies that control our resources yes they are our resources. Are we going to stay complacent and let the 10% of the population change the face of this country are we gonna believe that we don't have enough clean natural gas to burn and other resources to use until w solve this problem. You can't tell me that it cost home owner 50,000 to put solar panels on there home but the energy companies get there pay back sooner there break even point sooner. If they can do it commercially then it should be done afford ably residentially our founding document the Declaration of Independence requires us as citizens to do whats Right for the people. It says It's our duty to abolish or change our government when it is taking us down the wrong path. It's time to stand up and be counted sitting on our hands and being complacent is not working.

Errrm this is an International forum - I must disagree with a few (or several) of your points.

Sorry to be a pedant but the US has only been in existence for a few hundred years...

'....advanced more human rights...' that's because you started from a lower baseline and left it later then many more civilised countries, don't you think?

Well to be honest we have'nt even hit 3 hundred yrs yet and if you compare advancments across the board against time of existence the U.S. has a pretty proud record. My point stands for your country or mine why as all people are we willing to give up our lands for the rich so they can keep contorl of our resources we should solar power our own homes be energy self sufficaint and not give up our land.National secutity hmmmm solar farms and windmill farms are larger targets hell we can bearly secure a nuclear plant let alon thousands of acres of solar panels w/ no other purposeful use of the land once installed but to keep making the fat cats rich by we the people all people.

Now don't get your knickers in a knot. We were gonna tell you about inventing phlogiston, rounders, shinty, and the aether just as soon as we had conned you out of Linda Thompson.

But, you lads owe us...big time. We diverted Murdoch just in time to keep him from buying Yorkshire and turning it into a theme park.

You chaps from across the pond are taking this to personal. If you haven't noticed all the turmoil in the world is based on energy and who can control it. Come on your boy Gordon gave up that terrorist to Libia for energy. Russia cuts off energy to there neighbors every day another fact Russia and china bed fellows china has never let Russia bring in any thing across there borders. Now there bringing in oil we as people have an opportunity to put our horse in the race, to un tie the umbilical cord get off the grid. But we need engineers to take it to the next step bring it with in economic range for the people all people. I for one don't want to leave my grand children this mess it goes as deep as great grand children those Rothschild's over there their great grand children don't have any thing to worry about.
