A good bet would be to register a CV/resumé with local employment agencies, whose numbers will be in the local telephone directory. Try as well to reach specialised agencies that may be able to connect with suitable employers locally/nationally/internationally, depending upon work location preferences. Trade journals can be a good source of reference to job-providers, as can high quality newspapers as their contact details will be in the employment adverts section. Is there a local reference library nearby that could help, for example (rhetorical question)? There are dozens of employment agencies on-line, and a good, current, CV can bring dividends.

Under UK law, registering a CV with an agency, either on-line or through the post, in pursuit of a job is free-of-charge.

No one single solution is completely applicable to a job-hunt, and looking for work can itself be a full-time job.

Good luck with the search.
