hello,

It is not just pressure which decides the use of RTJ flanges but rating of pipeline .Pipeline rating is decided by flange rating .Flange rating is decided based on Design pressure,Design Temperature(not maximum operating pressure or temperature) and material using ASME B 16.5,upto 24" flange size and ASME B 16.47 series A & series B from 26" to 60".

It is thumb rule that RTJ flange are used for-

Process piping-Class 900 ,Class 1500, Class2500.

Utility piping -Class 1500 ,Class 2500.
