Hydrotest Limitations

Plz answer me ,what are the limitatios of hydrotesting.

Those imposed by the engineer/surveyor for the company responsible for providing burst indemnity insurance while that individual witnesses the test.

hello,

As per ASME B 31.1-2004,Para-137.5.1,hydrotest limitation are as follow-(Instead pneumatic test is carried out)

1.When piping system are designed so that they can not be filled with water.

2.When any traces of testing medium can not be tolerated in the service fluid.

3.Also depend on the client requirement as mentioned in contract.
