Multiphase Pump Application

01/06/2010 2:32 AM

How much sense will it make to specify a multiphase pump for crude oil with GOR of 20

and a paltry flow rate of 4000 Bbl/day?

Not much until the required pressure increase is specified.

Suction pr = 6 bar

Discharge pr = 18 bar

Proposed to be installed near a well manifold for feeding a separator.

From separator - oil will be flow to an SBM for tanker loading application.Gas flared!

What voltage motor (hint: shaft work requirements exceed 106kW)?

Supply Voltage 415 V

Frequency : 50 Hz

Phase : 3

The idea of asking the basic question was to see if someone from oilfield experience

would analyse the suitability from the bubble point pressure angle and the wisdom

boosting the pressure just to reach the separator pressure + line losses which are minimal in this case.
