About Registration and Emails

01/06/2010 5:30 AM

I could not find where to ask a CR4 admin question. The questions is:

I wanted to post a reply under my name but had to do so as a guest because CR4 did not recognise my email address even though CR4 send me a regular email! I have now registered with the same email address and chose not to have a regular email (I expect I shall continue with the regular one I already get.) How come I have been receiving regular emails yet CR4 did not recognise my email address. Have I registered twice?

Hi Bren,

The CR4 system does not allow an email address to be used for more than one account, so the most likely explanation is that you registered with GlobalSpec.com (our parent company) and as part of your registration there signed up to receive the CR4 Daily Digest. This action however, did not make you a member of CR4.

The two sites are completely different in terms of registration. Both sites use separate passwords and security systems. If you register at GlobalSpec.com, you are not automatically registered at CR4. Conversely, if you become a registered member of the CR4 community, you are not registered at GlobalSpec.com. To become a member of both sites, you have to register separately at each.
