Friends,
Please feel free to pass this along to anyone in Houston or elsewhere who might be interested, Including our new Mayor and City Council and all who will hold office in the State of Texas. I wouldaaaa not be upset if representatives from our Federal Government should wish to see the idea at work.
I will soon complete the step by step description of how I plan to build a quarter scale model, aka known as the pilot plant, of the floating gas trap biodigester. This coming spring, when the weatehr is warm enough for me to work comfortably out doors, I will state to construct the model. By that time, I will have completed the "Bill of Material" and will have purchased all the material for the construction. I have asked one of my son-in-laws if he would like to help and he was very enthusiastic to join in. Now, I ask each of you; if any of you happen to be in the Houston Texas area when I start working, would you like to come to my home to witness the construction, testing, and "proof of concept" operation? You could even lend a hand in the construction, test, and initial operation. I anticipate the "proof ov concept" operation will take at least 30 day to complete, perhaps as much as 60 days. The incomplete plans are posted on http://chtank.org, under http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~chtank/pal.html, as http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~chtank/biodigest-1.html. The tutorial is being continually updated as time permits and will be complete before the Pilot model is built and ready for demonstration. However, expect revisions as the operations begin and slight modifications are determined to be needed.
For Jim Henley's information, the Pilot plant is designed on a skid so as to be portable. I can be set up in any community, school, 4H club, or FFA meeting place. However, for a complete demonstration, it will require 30 days in residence to demonstrate the methane gas producing capabilities. There are some "continuations" to the process which have yet to be designed. Needed is a very inexpenisve to create design for a input processor, a unit similar to a food processor or garbage desposal which can reduce leaves, manure, twigs, grass clippings, garden waste, etc., into small piece mixed 50%-50% with water in an approximate 5 gal. bucket to be poured down a 4" diameter inlet PVC pipe. I do plan to try to make something that will work, but it would expedite the process if someone else could volunteer. Also required for a full and practical demonstration, a inexpensive precess for removing Carbon Dioxide, Sulfur, and Water. The Carbon Dioxide removal would not be necessary if the gas feed were to be into a "demostartion model" of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell as is produce my Siemens. Also planned is the distribution of complete plans for the construction of a full sized (1500 gal.) concrete base unit, Plastic gas trap Biodigester which could be a very viable replacement for a septic tank.
I plan to post this entire e-mail on the CR4 web site as well.
Respectfully yours,
