What type of linear actuators? Electric or hydraulic?

Electric linear actuators provide linear motion via a motor-driven ball screw, lead screw, or acme screw assembly. The load is attached to the end of the screw and is unsupported.

Hydraulic linear actuators use a cylinder and hydraulic fluid for motive force.

You could go to the LINAK homepage to find reliable information about electric linear actuators. If you follow this hyperlink you'll be able to learn more about control boxes suitable for linking linear actuators with hand controls.
