Transformer Testing

which tests should be taken before commissioning transformer? please explain in brief with result values.

They will be in the manufacturer's information supplied with the transformer.

If ur convinced of the factory check for oil, open and short cct. test. U can make do with following test or check during commissioning of the tranformer. Insullation resistance test, polarity and test for earth electrode resistance.The HV and LV cables must also be tested since they can also be faulty.

This is not possible as it depends on the transformer and application. Refer to the local electrical standards and transformer maintenance standards applicable to your transformer, application and country for your answer. If in doubt get professional assistance or consult the transformer manufacturer.

result values means permissible limits for perticular test results.
