Ceramic Bearing Rollers

01/24/2007 7:00 PM

Hi, i'm searching for sources for ceramic bearing rollers. I'm hoping that there's a source for them "off-the-shelf".

Anyone out there got any leads?

Many thanks!

Try Hoover Precision or Cerbec-St Gobain. Bear in mind that ceramic bearings cannot be used in a full compliment arrangement (no retainer/cage) and that the contact stresses are higher at the raceways due to the elastic modulus difference.

What is the application? If you are in a harsh chemical environment, magnetically sensitive (MRI) or clean (semiconductor fab or medical application), PEEK, Glass or other bearing material may be more suitable. I work with polymer bearings of many varieties and would be happy to discuss the application and sources for bearings.

Is it some bit wrong "ceramic bearing rollers" for describe rolling element of bearing? The rolling elements in Bearings made of ceramic are typically balls, that is ball bearing use ceramic ball as its rolling elements.

If you refer to ceramic ball,it's popular used in small-size or micro-size ball bearing.

Hi: I was in an exposition of a NSK salesman and he show us some bearings with ceramics and glass balls. I think that you can direct your question to the main bearing manufacturers.

Regards

Thank you all for your input.

Henryzhang1: Do you have a website? I'd be eager to take a look.

Specs for the roller has firmed up since the 1st post; Mat'l: SiliconNitride, Diam.:10-12mm, Length: 12-14mm

Some Diesel fuel pumps utilise similar rollers, would this source be more promising?
