My suggestion is to find someone who understands electrical drawings and ask them to review the drawing for you. Perhaps, as they are reviewing it, they can tell you what to look for.

It's interesting that so many people are able to get themselves into positions for which they are not qualified. Oh well. Perhaps these people should go in to sales.

Maybe this is the curiosity/cat thing but can you scan some of it so we can get a look?

A technical drawing reviewer should be a person who is able to prepare the drawing. So, first ask yourself 'can you prepare it by yourself?'. If the answer is 'No', you should not review it.

You might start by learning about Electrical and Electronic Symbols.

As one who has reviewed many many sets of drawings, let me offer the following.

You first need to identify the "approach" to be taken for the review process.

For example, if I were to review drawings that you submitted to my section as part of the electrical permit process, I would be reviewing them for code compliance and nothing more. Whether or not the system shown on the drawings met your "need" is not something I could comment on as I have no knowledge of your requirements.

So.. is the review for...

A) Regulatory Compliance...

B) Appropriateness of the Design to Stated Project Goals...

C) Compliance with Corporate Engineering Standards...

D) A Contractor Take-Off Review for Quoting or Procurement Purposes...

Once the reason for the review is identified, an approach can be taken to conducting the review. Once the approach is identified... people capable of reviewing the diagrams to the identified approach need to be given the responsibility of carrying it out.
