Comprehensive Maintenance Approach

02/04/2010 3:57 AM

Dear All,

I saw HR recruitment procedural question for those aspiring to head an operation department of a GSM Operator, the question says;

Write a comprehensive maintenance procedure for a turnkey maintenance for all the network elements including MSC, BSC/MGW, IN-VAS, BTS highliting potential risks and mitigation measures, maintenance approch that will guaranty 99% availability of all the network elements.

I will appreciate if you guys can make some inputs on this for knowledge sake, especially with regards to;

1. Standard format of the technical presentaion,

2. Potential risks and mitigation measures,

3. Maintenance approach in view of the 99% availability target.

Thank you for your anticipated effort.

These are various nodes found in the GSM (Global Sytem for Mobile Telecommunications) network. Their full meanings are;

MSC........Mobile Switching Center

BSC/MGW............Base Station Controller/Media Gateway

IN-VAS.............Intelligent Network- Value Added Services

BTS..............Base Tranciever Station

GSM Operator ..........Cellular Mobile Service provider such as T-Mobile, Orange Network, Vodaphone etc

Thanks

Thanks for the enlightenment. What you are asking for seems like a rather large undertaking for casual conversation.

Assuming that you get the job, based on information you get here, how will you complete the next task given to you?

I can't help you.

Iam not vying for the the job, I am rather curious to know, as said in my initial post ''for the sake of knowledge''.

I just want to know how the content should be, on universal scale/standard.

No knowledge is a waste.

Thank you.

Sounds to me like they are looking for some freebees, rather than trying to hire anyone...
